- The contribution to ESI is calculated at 6.5% of the gross salary, with employers contributing 4.75% and employees contributing 1.75%.
- In industrial units where there is a potential risk of injury or health issues, mandatory ESI registration is required for all employees earning a salary less than Rs. 21,000.
